Accessibility Statement
The Wilfrid Museum is committed to promoting and advancing accessibility.
The Wilfrid Israel Museum of Asian Art and Studies is aware that in Israel approximately 20% of the population consists of people with disabilities of varying degrees. This includes people with mobility impairments, visual or reading impairments, hearing impairments, cognitive disabilities, reduced functional abilities—whether permanent or temporary—and other limitations.
People with disabilities may require accessibility accommodations.
The Wilfrid Israel Museum of Asian Art and Studies places great importance on making its services and facilities accessible so they can best serve every individual. Accordingly, the following accommodations have been implemented, among others:
The museum building is single-story, with an accessible entrance that is wide and free of stairs;
Entrances and exits to the galleries are designed with wide openings that allow wheelchair access;
Designated parking spaces with priority for people with disabilities are available adjacent to the museum entrance;
Exhibits are displayed at a low height, allowing viewing by visitors using wheelchairs;
Accessible restrooms with grab bars are available within the museum building;
Amplification devices adapted for visitors who require them are available in the museum;
Multiple communication channels are available for contacting the museum: telephone (including voicemail) and email;
In addition, visits to the museum are accompanied by professional guides who provide verbal guidance.
Visitors with disabilities are welcome to contact us through any of the available channels—by phone or email—to receive additional information and assistance regarding accessibility accommodations.
We regard all our customers and website users as having equal rights and being entitled to full accessibility to the organization’s facilities and services.
We have made our most important source of information—the organization’s website—accessible:
https://www.wilfrid.org.il
We make every effort to enable all users to utilize the organization’s services fully, sensitively, and equally. The law serves only as a baseline, from which we strive to further expand and improve information accessibility for our users, thereby also broadening our audience.
Accessibility of Services for the Organization’s Customers
The organization’s managers and employees have undergone training in accessible customer service for people with disabilities. As part of this training, staff received tools for addressing accessibility issues, including experiential learning to understand physical disabilities and the needs of all users of the organization’s websites.
Accessibility of Services and Telephone Support
The organization’s telephone service center operates with consideration for customers with disabilities and features no background music, a slower pace, and clear language in Hebrew and/or English.
